Data Gumbo is a startup with the vision to build the largest smart contract network in the world using blockchain technology for industrial spaces such as oil & gas (O&G), construction, and manufacturing. I supported the CEO, C-suite leadership, and all internal teams with in-house graphic design services spanning projects including visual design, presentations, publications, diagrams, campaign collateral, social media graphics, and fun swag.
For one of my first tasks, I refreshed the presentation template to reflect the founder's message on how blockchain technology can revolutionize B2B transactions. At the time, blockchain technology was relatively new and not well understood, and the O&G sector is often slow and resistant to change. Once the founder Andrew Bruce began using the new presentation template at conventions with 500+ attendees, one of the pieces of feedback we received was how audience members were struck by his powerful and bold presentation—most in part because of his message and some in part because of the template I designed.
One of the main projects I worked on was creating an official brand book for Data Gumbo. The Creative Director designed the logo and established the creative direction for the company before I came on but did not have time to document in the fast-paced startup environment. As a new hire, I was tasked with formally documenting Data Gumbo's branding in a brand book that could teams could use as a resource.
